Keep the tooth alive
for the ride.

If a tooth is knocked out, the clock starts immediately. Rinse it gently with water and try to put it back in the socket within a few minutes. The blood supply and the nerve may reconnect. It may still not stay in, which is why speed counts.

Do not scrub the surface. The fibers that would let it reattach live on that root, and scrubbing destroys them. Hold the tooth by the crown, the part you normally see.

If it will not seat, keep it wet. Held in the mouth against the cheek works, and so does a container of milk or water. A dry tooth in a tissue is the one thing to avoid. Call us while someone else drives, and come straight in.

9.5 miles by road. Two long stretches and a very short piece of I-355 in between.

From downtown, work east onto Chicago Avenue, which becomes Maple Ave.
Stay on Maple past Benet Academy to the I-355 ramp.
You are on the tollway less than half a mile. Exit at 63rd Street.
Turn left, head east, and we are at 63rd and Williams.

63rd Street is the long part, about three and a half miles. If a passenger is holding the tooth, that is the stretch to use for the phone call.

We are closed Thursday and Sunday. Our open days are Monday, Tuesday and Friday 9AM to 5PM, Wednesday 12PM to 8PM, and Saturday 8AM to 1PM by appointment. Bleeding you cannot control, or swelling that affects your breathing, is an emergency room visit at any hour.
